EVENTS

June 20, 1879. On this date, being informed that Sharon Lodge No. 103 had held no meetings for about eighteen months, had paid no dues for 1878 and was in a state of general debility, fast approaching absolute decay, I arrested the charter and appointed Bro. Jas. T. Hicks receiver. Subsequent to this, and while the Deputy Grand Master was discharging the duties of the office of Grand Master, Bro. Adams applied to him for a revocation of my order. This the acting Grand Master declined to do, but he did suspend the operation of my order for thirty days, upon the condition that Sharon Lodge would make its return and pay dues for 1878. The conditions were not complied with, and I declined to restore the charter. Report of Grand Master Frank Burkitt to 1880 Grand Lodge
August 25th, I received a letter from R. W. Grand Secretary, inclosing one fromt he W. M. of Sharon Lodge, No. 103, protesting against the arrest of the charter of said Lodge. I at once wrote to the W. M. of said Lodge, giving the Lodge thirty days to pay all dues to Grand Lodge, and promising if this was done that the order of suspension would be revoked; otherwise it would remain in full force and effect. I have heard nothing from them since, but presume they failed to accept my proposition, and that Bro. Power has their charter and effects. Report of the Deputy Grand Master dated Feb. 3, 1880.
From the Committee on Subordinate Lodges:
We recommend the restoration of the charter of Sharon Lodge No. 103, and the said Lodge be allowed thirty days from this date (February 6, 1880) to elect officers for 1880, pay all dues and make returns.
RESOLVED: That the charter of Sharon Lodge, No. 103, be restored, and the said Lodge be allowed thirty days from this date (February 6, 1880) to pay all dues to the Grand Lodge, elect and install officers for 1880, and make returns. But this is not to be construed as an approval of the course of Sharon Lodge in the past, but is done in the hope of better things of it in the future.

On February 18, 1907 a resolution from Sharon Lodge #103 was read at Canton Lodge #28 requesting the consolidation of Sharon Lodge #103 into Canton Lodge #28.
A large number of members joined Canton Lodge #28 in 1908 under authority of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, apparently from this lodge
